On Sunday, UFC bantamweight prospect Cody Garbrandt (7-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) hopes to take another step toward contender status when he takes on promotional newcomer Augusto Mendes (5-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC). Ahead of that contest, see how “No Love” earned his way into the promotion.

In October 2014, Garbrandt stepped into the NAAFS cage in Canton, Ohio. Standing across from Garbrandt was Charles Stanford – though he wouldn’t be standing for long.
