EA Sports will be rolling out a new UFC video game, according to a social media tease by the developer.
EA Sports UFC’s official Twitter account today posted an octagon logo with a number 2, Tuesday’s date and a message to “stay tuned.”
“The wait is finally over,” the tweet read.
EA Sports UFC was developed by much of the EA Canada team that created the well-received EA Fight Night boxing games. MMAjunkie spoke to the team in advance of the June 2014 release.
At the time of release on PlayStation 4 and XBox One, the game was plagued by glitches. However, the studio continued to provide regular updates to the roster and fixes for most of the headline-grabbing glitches. A mobile version of the game was released in April.
The first iteration of the game received a score of 70 on popular video game review aggregation site Metacritic. That score placed it firmly in the “mixed” category.
A representative for EA Sports has not responded to requests for more details on the nature of Tuesday’s announcement.
