Debutant battle: Roman Gilyazov and Alexander Stepanov hacked at RCC Fair Fight 22, Gilyazov turned the fight over and snatched victory in the extra round
In the fourth pair of the RCC Fair Fight 22 tournament, the audience saw the fight between two debutants. Roman Gilyazov and Alexander Stepanov had a three-round fight in welterweight (up to 77 kg).
Without reconnaissance, the athletes started the fight. Stepanov tried to act as the first number, approached, went into the clinch and connected his knees. Gilyazov tried to keep the opponent at a distance, hit low kicks, front kicks, one of which almost knocked the opponent down. At the end of the round, the fighters hacked to death in the center of the ring, for which they received a standing ovation from the audience.
There was more clinching in the second round from both fighters where they put in hard knees and elbows. The initiator of this tactic was Stepanov, who felt more confident in the clinch than his opponent. In the second half of the round, Alexander several times powerfully hit his opponent's head with his knee, but Gilyazov coped with these attacks.
