On May 11, 2019, Matt Korobov battled Immanuwel Aleem in a 10-round middleweight bout. This fight was broadcast live on FOX from EagleBank Arena in Fairfax, Virginia as part of the Premier Boxing Champions series. Korobov was comfortably in control of the fight early on, however as the fight went on, Korobov became noticeably gassed, allowing Aleem to make up some points. The fight ultimately went the distance and Korobov was awarded a majority decision victory.
