Jan Blachowicz vs. Magomed Ankalaev UFC 282 T-Mobile Arena Las Vegas Nevada Fight Video Replay Livestream Full HD Part 1
Even without the light heavyweight strap, Jan Blachowicz( 29-9) did not anticipate leading UFC 282. He was defeated in the second round by Glover Teixeira( 2021), who removed his belt through a clinical grappling display. The Brazilian was then defeated by Jiri Prochazka in a ferocious struggle, and their rematch was scheduled for this card. Blachowicz decided to give up the title, so he stood up for his own rematch, but Teixeira declined.
Magomed Ankalaev( 18-1) has now gained access as a result of this. It did not take him long to challenge for the title, but fortunate events from his perspective have given him his ideal opportunity. On his debut against Paul Craig( 2018), he only suffered one book loss. In the final seconds of the fight, while cruising, he became entangled in the Scot's triangle. Ankalaev has made up for it by defeating Thiago Santos by a unanimous vote and Anthony Smith by TKO this year, winning his final nine.
This match-up, which ought to be a number one contender fight, has helped the light heavyweight division advance significantly over the past few years. Both of them are very well-rounded. Both of them are master strikers, with Ankalaev dominating the wrestling match and Blachowicz the jiu-jitsu match.
However, Blachowicz is more likely to start any grappling because he has fought Israel Adesanya and other top strikers, and because of his well-known left-hand strength and confidence on the ground. Ankalaev, however, is arguably the division's top striker.
In an effort to find a target for his lethal kicks, the Russian will try to control the range while luring Blachowicz into his web and piercing the guard with his jab and 1– 2. The Pole, on the other hand, will want to maintain a close proximity while aiming his monster left hook at the body at Muay Thai range.
Ankalaev is seen landing more frequently while circling, forcing Blachowicz to try to drag the fight to the ground like he did with Adesanya by jumping into a clinch. If he could carry Ankalaev on his back, that would be very interesting. Blachowicz will need to put a lot of effort into trying because the Russian has excellent takedown defense.
The striking and grappling matches will be fiercely competitive. When it comes to experience and five-round fights, Blachowicz has the advantage, but if he can't incorporate some grappling or shorten the distance, it's going to be a long night.
We believe that by keeping the majority of the fight on the feet, Ankalaev's sambo and takedown defense could work in his favor. We believe he is capable of winning and even losing. He will, however, have to persevere through the greatest challenge of his professional life.
