Undefeated Amir-Arslan Akhmedov and Nair Melikyan fought as part of the lightweight Grand Prix at the RCC Hard 8 tournament in Yekaterinburg. Akhmedov has a victory over Vyacheslav Meshcherkin himself, so he was the favorite in this fight. But Melikyan had a great first round, applying enormous pressure. Nair invested in sweeping side kicks, while Akhmedov worked well on his feet and interrupted his opponent from a distance, including with a jab.
