With Thiago Tavares knocked out off the UFC Fight Night 36 card due to an undisclosed injury, the UFC signed undefeated Douglas Silva de Andrade to take his place.
UFC officials announced the signing on Thursday.
UFC Fight Night 36 takes place on Saturday, Feb. 15 at Arena Jaragua in Jaragua do Sul, Brazil. A five-round middleweight non-title bout between Lyoto Machida and Gegard Mousasi headlines the card.
Silva steps onto the card to face another UFC newcomer in Zubair Tukhugov.
Silva (22-0, 1 NC) has not lost yet in his professional career. Perhaps more impressive, he has won 18 of his 22 victories via knockout or TKO stoppage.
Tukhugov (15-3) is the latest of a slew of Russian imports that have been finding a wealth of success in the Octagon. Riding a six-fight winning streak, he’ll be looking to carry that success into his UFC debut.
