Teddy Holder knew a huge opportunity when he saw one, and Thiago Silva was the victim.
Holder (9-1), who was originally supposed to fight in a light heavyweight tournament reserve bout, took Matt Hamill’s spot in the tourney on Saturday when Hamill fell ill at WSOF 19. Then he went out and shocked UFC veteran Silva (16-4) with a brutal first-round TKO.
WSOF 19 took place Saturday at Comerica Theatre in Phoenix. It aired on NBCSN following prelims on MMAjunkie.
