Dustin Poirier has been on a tear at lightweight, providing the kind of action-packed first round destructions that get MMA fans buzzing since moving back to 155 pounds.
Poirier’s impressive performances seem to make what Conor McGregor (17-2 MMA, 5-0 UFC) did to him at UFC 178 all the more amazing. When the two men met the action was all McGregor from the opening bell. At the 1:46 mark of Round 1 it was all over and McGregor was getting his hand raised.
McGregor will face Jose Aldo for the UFC featherweight title in the main event of UFC 189 on July 11.
