Video: Fowlkes on Jon Jones, Daniel Cormier, hot mics and the camera’s unblinking eye

Following this past week’s bizarre public relations UFC 178 tour with Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier, MMAjunkie’s Ben Fowlkes discusses hot mics and the camera’s unblinking eye.

More specifically, he explains why the on-stage brawl, the heated TV interviews and the subsequent leaked footage – all that drama ahead of their upcoming title fight – is a good thing in the big-picture sense.

It may not be proudest moment for the sport, but it’s still kind of awesome. Check out the above video as Fowlkes gives three reasons why.

Jones and Cormier, meanwhile, will finally settle the score on Sept. 27 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Jones (20-1 MMA, 14-1 UFC), the UFC’s long-dominant champ, puts his 205-pound title on the line against Cormier (15-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC), the undefeated former heavyweight and Olympic wrestler, in the night’s pay-per-view main headliner.
