They may have been the darlings of March Madness, but Florida Gulf Coast University’s basketball team didn’t exactly gain a fan in UFC women’s bantamweight contender Miesha Tate.
During a recent red-carpet interview with ESNEWS, some “Dunk City” players, who upset their way to an Sweet Sixteen berth this year despite being a No. 15 seed, noticed Tate. When told she’s a UFC fighter, that led to an advance, which was quickly met with an epic shoot-down.
“I would love to take a piece of that,” one player creepily stated.
“You wouldn’t remember it,” the former Strikeforce champion quickly retorted.
Check out the video above. And catch Tate (13-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC) in action again on Dec. 28 when she rematches current UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey (7-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) in UFC 168's pay-per-view co-headliner.
