UFC releases list of 23 new celebrity owners – and it includes a bunch of friends of the program

News broke late Friday that the UFC had 23 new celebrity investors, and there were some heavy-hitting names on the list.

Today, after the initial report from The Wall Street Journal, the promotion unveiled the complete list of superstars who have an ownership stake in the world’s leading MMA organization.

The UFC recently was sold to William Morris Endeavor-International Management Group for $4 billion, and the powerful talent agency has brought some of the elite from Hollywood and the sports world into the fold.

Terms of the investments from each of the 23 celebrities were not revealed, but all of them certainly have a few bucks in the bank to set aside for an investment opportunity: Ben Affleck, Michael Bay, Tom Brady, Rob Dyrdek, Guy Fieri, Flea, Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye, Calvin Harris, Anthony Kiedis, Jimmy Kimmel, Robert Kraft, Adam Levine, Li Na, LL Cool J, Cam Newton, Conan O’Brien, Trey Parker, Tyler Perry, Maria Sharapova, Sylvester Stallone, Mark Wahlberg, Serena Williams and Venus Williams are the names released today by the UFC and WME-IMG.

“Expanding our ownership group to include this caliber of talent and entrepreneurs is a strong indicator of the UFC’s fast-growing global presence,” UFC President Dana White stated. “Our new investors bring an incredible depth of knowledge and experience to help us continue to elevate this brand and capitalize on its entertainment and sports crossover appeal.”

The list of stars is a who’s-who of celebrity UFC fans, and many of the new part-owners are regular fixtures cageside at events.

O’Brien also announced the deal on Thursday’s new episode of “Conan” on TBS, jokingly adding he would soon be competing in the octagon.

WME-IMG co-CEO Ari Emanuel said selecting the 23 for potential investment was simple.

“They would always ask for tickets,” Emanuel told The Wall Street Journal, adding, “I think it’s a mainstream sport now.”
