UFC on Fuel TV 3 Ratings: ‘Korean Zombie vs. Poirier’ Averages 173,000 Viewers

UFC on Fuel TV 3 captured an average of 173,000 viewers during the cable network’s six-fight broadcast on Tuesday night.

Sherdog.com confirmed the figure Wednesday with an industry source. The viewership number continues a downward trend for the promotion’s Fuel TV live shows, as the first two installments of the series attracted 217,000 and 197,000 viewers in February and April, respectively. The evening’s preliminary card was streamed live on Facebook.

Headlined by an exciting featherweight contest between “Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung and Dustin Poirier, UFC on Fuel TV 3 took place at Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va. Jung scored a fourth-round submission over Poirier in a “Fight of the Night”- and “Submission of the Night”-winning performance, putting “The Diamond” to sleep with a slick brabo choke after staggering the American with a hard uppercut.

The main card broadcast also saw lightweight standout Donald Cerrone cruise to a unanimous nod over hard-hitting Jeremy Stephens, while Igor Pokrajac edged Fabio Maldonado in an exciting split decision at light heavyweight. Tom Lawlor also emerged victorious on Tuesday, earning “Knockout of the Night” after finishing Jason MacDonald in just 50 seconds. Yves Jabouin and Amir Sadollah both took home decision victories, besting Jeff Hougland and Jorge Lopez, respectively.
