UFC on FX 5 Results: Justin Edwards Makes Fast Work of Josh Neer

Justin Edwards at UFC 138It didn’t take long for Ohio native Justin Edwards to pick up the biggest win of his UFC career on Friday night.

Taking on veteran fighter Josh Neer as the lead fight for the UFC on FX 5 card, Edwards came out right away pushing the pace and showing no fear against the longtime knockout artist.

Neer went for the clinch, but it cost him as Edward saw an opening and latched onto a standing guillotine choke, quickly jumping up and putting his legs around his opponent to increase the pressure.

Neer struggled to get free and eventually fell to the mat, but Edwards’ grip wasn’t loosening at all.

A few seconds later with Edwards still holding on tight, the referee moved in to check on Neer and he quickly discovered that the fighter was unconscious from the choke.

“I felt him go limp and I told the referee he was out,” said Edwards after the victory.

Edwards let go of the hold and jumped up in celebration as he picks up the quick submission win over Josh Neer, while picking up his 2nd win overall in the UFC.
