UFC on FUEL TV 9: Gegard Mousasi vs Ilir Latifi

Former StrikeForce Light-heivyweight champion Mousasi has fought in several MMA organizations around the world and has fought many well-known fighters, such as Denis Kang, Mark Hunt, Renato Sobral, Melvin Manhoef, Ronaldo Souza to name few. “The Dreamcatcher” trained with the Legendary MMA fighter and former Pride champion Fedor Emelianenko. Most of the 27 years old Mousasi’s fights he  has ended in round 1, including his last fight against UFC veteran Mike Kyle by rear-naked choke on January 12, 2013 at final StrikeForce event.
 
While Gustafsson lost in the UFC just once, against Phil Davis by anaconda choke at the end of round one at UFC 112 on April 10, 2010, the Swede has a six-fight win streak where in his last fight he beat Former UFC and Pride champion Maurício “Shogun” Rua by unanimous decision at UFC on Fox: Henderson vs. Diaz on December 8, 2012 in Seattle, Washington. Then the Swede suffered a facial cut in preparation for UFC on FUEL TV 9 and the Swedish MMA Federation later announced that Gustafsson was not approved by the Medical Committee to fight Mousasi due to his injury.
 
Now Gustafsson's teammate Ilir Latifi takes his place. Latifi has a three-fight win streak where in the last fight he won Jorge Oliveira by unanimous decision victory at SC 8 – in Sweden, Malmo on October 6, last year in Sweden, Malmo.
