UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar Signs on With New Management

Just weeks after UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar split from manager Shari Spencer, the top 155lb fighter in the world has now signed on with new representation.

Sources have indicated to MMAWeekly.com that Edgar will now begin working with Dominance MMA headed up by Ali Abdel-Aziz, who along with Edgar’s wife Renee, will handle Edgar’s management going forward.

Abdel-Aziz manages several other prominent fighters including Renzo Gracie, Ricardo Almeida, Rafael “Sapo” Natal, as well as several Gracie fighters including Igor, Gregor and Rolles Gracie.

Edgar is a mainstay at the main Renzo Gracie academy in New York City, while also training at Ricardo Almeida’s gym in New Jersey.

It appears the UFC lightweight champion is staying close to home with his new management team, and keeping his business in the family.

Edgar returns to action this May when he defends his lightweight title for the second time against Gray Maynard after their last fight ended in a draw. Edgar will be training alongside the team at Renzo Gracie’s as he prepares for the trilogy against Maynard at UFC 130.
