SAN ANTONIO -- Cub Swanson and Jeremy Stephens, two of the featherweight division’s best strikers, went toe-to-toe for five rounds on Saturday night.

The end result was an entertaining five-round scrap that left both men $50,000 richer. Swanson and Stephens received “Fight of the Night” honors for their featherweight headliner at UFC Fight Night at AT&T Center. Swanson ultimately did the most significant damage, landing in greater volume than Stephens and rocking his opponent with kicks to the body in round three and five en route to winning a unanimous decision.

Earlier in the evening, Carlos Diego Ferreira earned a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus for his first-round submission of “The Ultimate Fighter 16” alum Colton Smith. The former Legacy Fighting Championship talent tripped Smith to the canvas then forced him to surrender his back with a few well-placed punches. From there, the Brazilian swiftly secured a no-hooks rear-naked choke, earning a tapout 48 seconds into the opening stanza.

Ray Borg garnered the card’s other $50,000 “Performance of the Night” award for his submission of short-notice foe Shane Howell in a flyweight tussle. The FIT-NHB representative quickly transitioned to his adversary’s back and secured a rear-naked choke. While Howell would escape the initial choke, Borg readjusted and elicited a tap 2:17 into round one.
