UFC Fight Night 87 Fighter Bonuses: Stefan Struve’s 15-Second KO Leads the Charge

The Ultimate Fighting Championship made its first stop in the Netherlands on Sunday. Debuting with a heavyweight charged UFC Fight Night 87: Overeem vs. Arlovski in Rotterdam, UFC officials handed out $50,000 post-fight bonuses after the event.

There was no Fight of the Night award. UFC officials instead opted to award for individual Performance of the Night bonuses. It was no surprise that a couple of the big guys were among the winners.

Main eventer Alistair Overeem was awarded a $50,000 bonus for his outstanding knockout finish of Andrei Arlovski. Overeem dropped the Belarusian with a left hand that followed a crane kick, a la Karate Kid. He dropped to the canvas and finished Arlovski with a several right hands.

Stefan StruveStefan Struve made the biggest splash of the night, taking out Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva in the night’s co-main event in just 15 seconds. He rocked Silva with a right cross, dropped him with a knee to the sternum, and then finished him off with a series of elbows.

The final two bonuses of the night went to Gunnar Nelson and Germaine de Randamie. Nelson submitted Albert Tumenov with a rear-naked choke, while de Randamie scored a first-round finish over Anna Elmose, taking her out with a knee to the body followed by a single right hand.
