A half-dozen UFC Fight Night 102 fighters need clearance to compete again after receiving indefinite medical suspensions from the New York State Athletic Commission.
MMAjunkie recently requested and today received a list of suspensions from the NYSAC following the event, which took place this past Friday, Dec. 9, at Times Union Center in Albany, N.Y. The card streamed live on UFC Fight pass.
Main-card fighter Gian Villante (15-7 MMA, 5-3 UFC) was among those to receive an indefinite term despite his second-round TKO win over Saparbek Safarov (8-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC), who escaped with just a 30-day term.
Light heavyweights Andrew Sanchez (9-2 MMA, 2-0 UFC) and Trevor Smith (14-7 MMA, 4-4 UFC) received indefinite terms after going to a decision, as did featherweights Shane Burgos (8-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and Tiago Trator (20-6-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC) after their exhilarating 15-minute bout.
Those stopped by punches at the event, including headliner Shamil Abdurahimov (17-4 MMA, 2-2 UFC), Safarov, Sean O'Connell (17-9 MMA, 2-5 UFC) and Brian Camozzi (7-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC) were given 30-day terms.
All fighters on the card received a mandatory minimum seven-day suspension.
