UFC Fight For The Troops 2 Medical Suspensions: Matt Mitrione and Willamy Freire Suspended Indefinitely

UFC Fight for the Troops LogoFive fighters were suspended for medical reasons following Saturday’s UFC Fight For The Troops 2 in Fort Hood, Texas.

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, which oversees mixed martial arts regulation, released the suspensions on Monday.

Two of the suspensions were indefinite. Willamy Freire, who lost a unanimous decision to Waylon Lowe, must have his right hand cleared by an orthopedist and his right cheek cleared by a maxillofacial surgeon before he is allowed to fight again. Matt Mitrione defeated Tim Hague by first-round TKO, but must have his left second metacarpal cleared by an orthopedist before he can return.

The other three suspensions were less severe. Main eventer Evan Dunham, the aforementioned Hague, and George Roop all lost by TKO. Each received a standard 30-day suspension that ends on Feb. 22.

No fighter salaries will be published for UFC Fight For The Troops 2. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation does not release salary information.
