The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced Wednesday that the promotion’s UFC 94 fight card scheduled for the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas is officially a sellout.
With all 14,000-plus tickets to the event no longer on sale, fight fans that wish to see Georges St. Pierre defend his UFC welterweight title against reigning UFC lightweight champion B.J. Penn will have to order the event on pay-per-view.
The UFC’s promotion of the PPV will heat up tonight when it debuts the first episode of UFC Primetime on Spike TV tonight at 10 p.m. ET.
Modeled after HBO’s hit documentary series 24/7, UFC Primetime will air behind-the-scenes footage shot around Penn and St. Pierre as they prepare for their epic clash. A total of three episodes will air the next three Wednesday nights as a prelude to UFC 94.
While the UFC has yet to publicly confirm, published reports indicate that the company spent $1.7 million in total production costs in order to film the three episodes of UFC Primetime that will center around Penn and St. Pierre.
