LAS VEGAS – After a world tour, heated trash talk and an injury delay, Conor McGregor finally got in the octagon with Jose Aldo at UFC 194. And the fight only lasted 13 seconds.
McGregor (19-2 MMA, 7-0 UFC) set a new UFC record for the quickest finish in a title fight when a perfectly placed punch dropped Aldo (25-2 MMA, 7-1 UFC) to the canvas. A pair of hammerfists later and the fight was over, and McGregor was the new champion.
The featherweight title unification bout was the main event of today’s UFC 194 event at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It aired on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
