UFC 189: Conor McGregor vs. Chad Mendes video highlights

LAS VEGAS – There were many lingering questions MMA fans wanted answered when it came to the bona fides of Conor McGregor heading into his UFC 189 interim featherweight championship bout with Chad Mendes.

McGregor (18-2 MMA, 6-0 UFC) was forced to answer many of those questions en route to a TKO of Mendes (17-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC) late in Round 2. Mendes scored with punches on the feet, takedowns and solid ground-and-pound but was unable to put away the brash Irishman.

Late in the second round, McGregor got back to his feet and unloaded his full striking arsenal before landing a perfect right hand to the chin of Mendes, dropping the American and leading to the stoppage at the 4:57 mark of Round 2.

Check out the video highlights of the bout, which took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The main card aired on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
