UFC 179: Aldo vs. Mendes Drug Test Results Released | MMAWeekly.com

The Brazilian Athletic Commission of MMA recently released the drug test results for UFC 179: Aldo vs. Mendes II with none of the tested fighters returning positive results.

All 22 fighters were drug tested, according to CABMMA, although not all were administered the full battery of testing.

UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo and his challenger, Chad Mendes, as well as co-main event fighters Phil Davis and Glover Teixeira, were tested for anabolic agents, diuretics/masking agents, stimulants, cannabinoids, erythropoietin (EPO) and human growth hormone (HGH).

The rest of the fighters were tested for anabolic agents, diuretics/masking agents, stimulants, and cannabinoids.

“The Brazilian Athletic Commission of MMA (CABMMA) reports that all fighters were subjected to doping control tests to detect the presence of anabolic agents, diuretics/masking agents, stimulants and cannabinoids in UFC 179: Aldo vs Mariano II, held in Rio de Janeiro/RJ on October 25, 2014,” read a CABMMA statement.

“All fighters showed negative results in their respective examinations. The Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA) has carried out all the tests in a laboratory accredited by WADA.”
