UFC 159 Update: Featherweights Steven Siler, Jim Hettes to Meet in New Jersey

A featherweight bout between Steven Siler and Jim Hettes has been added to UFC 159.

Siler announced the matchup via Twitter on Friday. UFC 159 takes place at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., and is headlined by a light heavyweight title tilt between “The Ultimate Fighter 17” coaches Jon Jones and Chael Sonnen. Hettes and Siler were originally scheduled to square off at UFC on FX 4 before Hettes was forced to withdraw from the contest due to injury.

A veteran of “TUF 14,” Siler won his first three fights with the promotion, besting Josh Clopton, Cole Miller and Joey Gambino before falling to Darren Elkins in his most recent outing at UFC 154.

Hettes suffered the first loss of his professional career at UFC 152, dropping a unanimous decision to Marcus Brimage in September. Prior to that defeat, “The Kid” had won 10 straight fights, including triumphs over Alex Caceres and Nam Phan inside the Octagon.
