Authentic Sports Management on Wednesday announced that another of its fighters, Abel Trujillo, signed on with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Now, just a few hours later, Trujillo has an opponent and a date. He’ll square off in his Octagon debut with Tim Means at UFC 151 on Sept. 1 in Las Vegas.
MMAWeekly.com sources late Wednesday evening confirmed the fight, first reported by MMAJunkie.com.
Trujillo (9-4) made his way to the Octagon on the back of a four-fight winning streak, but he’s got no easy task before him in his debut.
Means (18-3), a former King of the Cage champion, now has back-to-back victories under his belt in the UFC, and has a streak of his own going, although his is to the tune of nine consecutive victories.
UFC 151 features a main event title bout between light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and challenger Dan Henderson.
(Editor’s Note: We originally reported the event for this fight as UFC on FX 5 by mistake. It has been corrected to UFC 151.)
