The Speed Bag: Hey, Jon Jones, I think you just made it worse

Despite Jon Jones’ incredible performance in his recent title defense win over Daniel Cormier, all anyone can talk about are the champ’s problems outside the cage. But with his recent actions, did Jones just make it worse?

Jones (21-1 MMA, 15-1 UFC), of course, checked in to rehab shortly after it was revealed he tested positive for cocaine metabolites in a pre-fight screen. Today, his own mother revealed he spent just one night in the program.

Now, there are certainly potential positives to take from the situation. Maybe it just meant Jones doesn’t have a problem and he was promptly sent hime. Of course, with neither Jones nor the UFC willing to publicly discuss the matter, it’s hard to know what it all means.

So does staying in the rehab facility for a single night bode well for the champ, or it does it seem like an insult to both the process and the public? Did Jones just make it worse?
