December’s lineup for The Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale has two new additions.
UFC officials recently announced welterweights Alex Garcia (13-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC) vs. Mike Pyle (27-12-1 MMA, 10-7 UFC) and lightweights Brendan O'Reilly (6-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) vs. ”Maestro” Dong Hyun Kim (13-8-3 MMA, 0-2 UFC). ReviewJournal.com first reported the bookings.
The TUF 24 Finale takes place Dec. 3 at The Pearl at The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. The event airs on FS1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass, though the bout order hasn’t been finalized.
Garcia, who opened his UFC career with a 3-1 mark (as part of an overall 7-1 run), then suffered a TKO loss to Sean Strickland in his most recent bout. The 29-year-old looks to rebound against Pyle, a 17-year vet who was on a 7-1 run from 2010-2013. However, he’s just 2-4 since then, and three of the losses, including one against Alberto Mina in July, have come via knockout.
O’Reilly, a 29-year-old Australian who had a short run on “The Ultimate Fighter Nations: Canada vs. Australia,” is 1-2 in the UFC with a victory over Vik Grujic sandwiched by losses to Alan Jouban and Zhang Lipeng. He meets “Maestro” Kim (not to be confused with “Stun Gun” Dong Hyun Kim), a 28-year-old Korean fighter who’s looking for his first UFC win. Since joining the UFC in 2015, he’s suffered knockout losses to Dominique Steele and Marco Polo Reyes.
