A total of 11 fighters have been suspended following this past Sunday’s TUF 19 Finale.
MMAjunkie recently requested the medical suspensions, and the Nevada State Athletic Commission on Monday posted them on its official website.
The TUF 19 Finale took place at Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Events Center. The event’s main card aired live on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
Notably, “The Ultimate Fighter 19? middleweight winner Eddie Gordon needs medical clearance for his left shoulder or faces a six-month term. In the first “TUF” finale of Sunday’s event, he quickly punched his way to a first-round TKO over Dhiego Lima, who received a 30-day term for his loss.
Additionally, preliminary-card fighter Keith Berish, who sustained a brutal knee injury as opponent Robert Drysdale tried to finish a rear-naked choke from the standing position, is out six months unless cleared by a doctor.
Main-event former two-division champion B.J. Penn was given a 60-day suspension for a cut over his left eye in his decisive loss to Frankie Edgar. The fight was Penn’s first at featherweight, but his last overall. He announced his retirement after the bout, making his medical suspension something of a moot point.
