Singapore’s Evolve Fight Team to Hold Inaugural Tryouts in June

Evolve Fight Team is looking for some new blood.

The Singapore-based gym Wednesday announced that its first open tryouts will be held on June 21 and 22, with the goal of adding a maximum of 15 professional athletes to the team.

According to the official announcement, anyone can submit an application, which the Evolve MMA coaching staff will review before sending invitations to a select group of applicants.

“Over the course of the weekend, we will test all candidates’ skill sets in all areas of martial arts,” the announcement read. “The tryouts will be physically and mentally intensive, and so we strongly recommend you show up in top shape and mentally prepared to push yourself to new limits. You should take your preparation and training for these tryouts as seriously as you would for a real competition. We want to see your best.

“In addition to testing physical attributes, we will also conduct a very thorough character interview. We have no room for big egos or people with poor values. Ultimately, we are looking for people that we believe have the potential to become world champions.”

Evolve MMA was founded in 2009 by muay Thai instructor Chatri Sityodtong and also houses former Team Quest coach Heath Sims and reigning One FC lightweight champion Shinya Aoki.

Registration for the tryouts can be found on Evolve MMA's official site.
