Ronda Rousey talks love of Fedor Emelianenko, desire to have ’57 of his babies’

Ronda Rousey may be one of the biggest MMA stars on the planet, but she apparently still gets a little flustered by one of her own idols in the sport.

Rousey, the UFC women’s bantamweight champion, has a bit of crush on retired Russian legend Fedor Emelianenko, it would seem.

During a recent meeting with media members in Los Angeles, Rousey joked about just how far she’d be willing to take things with Fedor.

“Do I want to have 57 of his babies? It’s true,” Rousey said. “I think he’s married, though, so I’m not allowed.”

Rousey (8-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) is fresh off a third-round armbar submission of bitter rival Miesha Tate (13-5 MMA, 0-2 UFC)  in the co-main event of UFC 168 this past month in Las Vegas. She next meets fellow Olympic medalist Sara McMann (8-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) in the main event of UFC 170 on Feb. 22, also in Las Vegas.

Why does Rousey hold Emelianenko, a former PRIDE champion and Strikeforce vet who’s considered one of the greatest fighters in MMA history, in such high regard? She said, in all seriousness, the reason is simple: He made her want to be an MMA fighter.
