The UFC’s January return to the “Mile High City” has another addition to the card.
According to a report from Combate.com, middleweight Marcos Rogerio de Lima (14-4-1 MMA, 3-2 UFC) will fight promotional newcomer John Phillips (21-6 MMA, 0-0 UFC) at UFC on FOX 23. The UFC has not yet made a formal announcement of the booking.
UFC on FOX 23 takes place Jan. 28 at Pepsi Center in Denver. The main card will air on FOX following prelims expected for FS1 and UFC Fight Pass.
De Lima will be looking to get back on track after a 67-second submission loss to Gadzhimurad Antigulov at UFC Fight Night 90 in November. Prior to that, he had won three of his first four fights in the UFC, all by first-round stoppage.
Phillips, from Wales, trains at SBG Ireland, home gym of UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor. “The White Mike Tyson” has won four straight fights, all by knockout. All 21 of his career victories have come by stoppage with 18 knockouts and three submissions.
