Racing Towards a One FC Title Shot, Gianni Subba Taking it One Fight at a Time

With back-to-back wins to start off his career, Gianni Subba has proven himself to be one of the top young prospects in One FC.

“It always feels good to win and preparing/training for those fights really helped me grow as a person and a fighter,” said Subba. “I feel like there is always room for improvement, that’s why I’m in the gym every day.”

Having been nine months since he last fought, Subba has used the time to continue to develop not only his physical game, but his mental game as well.

“I’ve just been working hard in the gym and brushing up on all my skills,” said Subba. “I feel like I’ve grown from one fight to the other. I’m more composed now and I feel mentally I am more ready than ever.”

On Friday, Nov. 15, Subba will be looking to raise his winning streak to three when he returns to One FC in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, against fellow prospect Yun Ting Chen (1-0).

“Yun Ting is a tough kid,” said Subba. “I trained with the guy twice a while back and we will both be better versions of what we were.

“I think I have a little bit more experience than him and that will be a factor.”

Should Subba pick up his third straight win in One FC, he could place himself in the title picture. But as he told MMAWeekly.com, that’s in the future and he’s currently 100-percent focused on the present.

“I’m not thinking that far ahead,” said Subba. “I guess I’ll just have to take whatever comes after this fight.

“I wanna thank my training partners, coaches, friends and family who have helped me through this journey. I’m looking to come out with a big win.”
