One of Bellator’s “tent pole” events has added another big clash.
Paul Daley (38-14-2 MMA, 3-1 BMMA) will square off with Brennan Ward (14-4 MMA, 9-4 BMMA) at Bellator 170, which takes place Jan. 21, 2017 at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif., the main card airs on Spike following prelims on MMAjunkie. Chael Sonnen meets Tito Ortiz in the night’s main event.
Bellator announced the fight via press release.
Daley is coming off his first loss in the Bellator cage, a unanimous decision loss to Douglas Lima at Bellator 158 in July. Prior to the defeat, Daley was riding a five-fight winning streak, including three straight wins in the promotion. 28 of his 38 career victories have come by knockout.
In his most recent bout, Ward scored a first-round knockout of Saad Awad at Bellator 163 (check out highlights of the knockout in the above video). He suffered a 30-second heel hook submission loss to Evangelista Santos at Bellator 153. Only one fight in Ward’s career has gone to decision.
