Governor Andrew Cuomo signed mixed martial arts sanctioning into law in New York on Thursday. The UFC immediately followed with an announcement of its first event in the state since UFC 7: The Brawl in Buffalo took place in 1995. UFC 205 will take place on Saturday, Nov. 12, at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

With it being such a monumental day in mixed martial arts – New York was the final state in the U.S. to sanction MMA – the UFC was in attendance, with Chris Weidman and Ronda Rousey taking the stage with Gov. Cuomo, as he signed the legislation.
