Michael Bisping Plans to Knock Anderson Silva Out

Seventh-ranked middleweight Michael “The Count” Bisping has always wanted to fight former champion Anderson Silva. That desire will come to fruition at UFC Fight 83 on Feb. 27 at the O2 Arena in London.

Silva has only lost to one fighter in his 10-year UFC career. Former champion Chris Weidman holds two wins over the Brazilian, and Bisping wants to be the second person to hand Silva a loss inside the Octagon.

Bisping doesn’t just want to defeat the future UFC Hall of Famer, he wants to beat “The Spider” so badly that the 40-year-old Silva retires.

“I’m signing on this contract to fight this guy to beat him, to knock him out, to end his career. So I’m going to give him zero respect once that cage door shuts. Just going to fight my fight,” Bisping said during a recent media conference call.

“I’m just going to utilize a lot of movement, find my fight and take it to him,” he said. “A lot of people when they fought Anderson, they were scared of him, they were beaten mentally before the fight even started.

“And you could see that in their performances. In the Nick Diaz fight, Diaz wasn’t scared of him at all, and you could see that it threw Anderson off. It certainly did affect him,” added the Englishman.

Bisping plans to implement an aggressive but careful approach against the former champion.

“I’m going to give him the respect he deserves, but I’m not going to be shy, I’m not going to tear away from this guy.”
