Light Heavyweights Tyrone Spong, Angel DeAnda Booked for WSOF 3 Co-Headliner

Tyrone Spong and Angel DeAnda will lock horns in a light heavyweight co-main event at WSOF 3, World Series of Fighting President Ray Sefo announced Tuesday.

WSOF 3 takes place June 14 at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and will see Jon Fitch collide with fellow UFC veteran Josh Burkman in the evening’s main event. The show’s four-bout main card airs live on NBC Sports Network and will also showcase submission specialist Rolles Gracie, who squares off with onetime Bellator talent Dave Huckaba. Additionally, unbeaten prospect Justin Gaethje will do battle with lightweight veteran Brian Cobb.

The evening’s preliminary card will feature a lightweight duel between UFC veterans John Gunderson and Dan Lauzon, as well as a middleweight showdown featuring undefeated up-and-comers Krasimir Mladenov and Kendrick Miree.

Spong, 27, made a successful mixed martial arts debut on Nov. 3, when the striker stopped Travis Bartlett in 3:15 at WSOF 1. The Surinamese-born Dutchman returned to the kickboxing ring in his most recent bout, knocking out three-time K-1 world grand prix champion Remy Bonjasky on March 23.

DeAnda, meanwhile, captured the vacant Tachi Palace Fights light heavyweight crown in his last outing by finishing Anthony Ruiz this past November at TPF 15. The win marked the fourth-straight triumph for “The Dream,” who owns 10 of his 11 career victories via form of knockout.
