A pair of light heavyweights have agreed to meet on the undercard of UFC 126 in February as American Kickboxing Academy fighter Kyle Kingsbury will face off against Ricardo Romero in a 205-pound bout.

The fight was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com by sources close to the negotiations on Wednesday. MMADieHards.com initially reported the fight.

Kingsbury (9-2) enters UFC 126 on a two-fight win streak, defeating Jared Hamman and Razak Al-Hassan back-to-back. Kingsbury was a competitor during the eighth season of “The Ultimate Fighter” reality show, and has since taken his training to San Jose, Calif., to work with the team at AKA.

Hoping to keep a winning streak of his own alive in February will be Romero (11-1), making his second appearance in the Octagon. His first fight was a bit of a rocky road. He suffered a fractured jaw at the hands of Seth Petruzelli, but he fought back and ended up submitting him with an armbar in the second round.

Overall, Romero has won six fights in a row, including the win over Petruzelli, and a victory over former “Ultimate Fighter” heavyweight James McSweeney.

The bout between Kingsbury and Romero will occupy a spot on the untelevised undercard for UFC 126 set to go down Super Bowl weekend in Las Vegas.
