Texas is about to get a little summertime snow… well, sort of.

Strikeforce has signed Jeff “Snowman” Monson to fight Daniel Cormier at the promotion’s Overeem vs. Werdum event on June 18 in Dallas.

ShoSports on Sunday added the bout to the fight card listed on its website.

Cormier (7-0) was originally slated to face fellow heavyweight prospect Shane Del Rosario on the Dallas fight card, but Del Rosario had to withdraw due to injuries suffered in a recent car accident.

Cormier enters the bout, coming off of a win over former IFL heavyweight Devin Cole in January.

Monson (42-11) is considered one of the pioneer’s of mixed martial arts in the U.S. and one of its most enigmatic characters. Monson has fought for nearly every major MMA promotion across the globe, other than Strikeforce. He enters the fight on the heels of an eight-fight winning streak.

The June 18 fight card features the second half of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix quarterfinal bracket with heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem vs. Fabricio Werdum and Josh Barnett vs. Brett Rogers.
