Ian McCall Braces for UFC on FX 3 Showdown with Demetrious Johnson: Fan Reaction (Yahoo! Contributor Network)

By David King,

The Ultimate Fighting Championship couldn't have asked for a better way to open up their flyweight division, as Demetrious Johnson and Ian McCall put on an entertaining show at "UFC on FX 2."

Unfortunately, UFC fans were robbed of what should have been a "sudden victory" fourth round, due to a scoring error by Octagon-side officials—the bout was ruled in favor of Johnson, but eventually got changed to a draw after the mistake was discovered.

Johnson and McCall will now have to fight again, in order to figure out who advances to the final round of the four-man tournament to face Joseph Benavidez. McCall promises to keep things out of the judges' hands this time around, and he plans to do a lot better in the striking department.

"I think if anybody has a lot to change, it's me," McCall said in an interview with Sherdog's 'Savage Dog Show.' "Because again, my standup was horrible. I just need to get in my rhythm, go out there and do my thing. I'm sure he'll be a little bit different. He'll probably work on wrestling stuff because I'm sure he doesn't want to be underneath me again, but I don't see either of us changing too much. I did my job. I put on a show for everybody. This one's for me. … I'm going to finish this next fight. I don't know if it's going to be on the feet or on the ground, but I'm going to finish this fight."

McCall came close to finishing Johnson during their "UFC on FX 2" encounter, delivering some serious ground-and-pound in the third round. He certainly spent too much time playing up to the crowd, and things could have turned out differently if he was a little more focused on the job at hand.

Surprising, the oddsmakers weren't really impressed with McCall's performance against Johnson, and he'll be the underdog going into the rematch.
