Pettis (18-5) was expected to make his 145-pound debut at UFC 163 in August 2013 against then-champion Jose Aldo, but a knee injury forced him out of the fight. Plans of a move to featherweight fell to the wayside when he was granted a lightweight title shot on short notice at UFC 164 against Benson Henderson and capture the 155-pound belt. He defended it one time and hasn’t won a fight since.
