Finally Back on Track, Caros Fodor Looking to Fight Again in 2013

26-Caros-Fodor-7227-UFC-157-weigh-478x270Following a two-fight losing streak that saw Caros Fodor go winless for nearly two years, he came back on Sept. 13 with a unanimous decision victory over Seung Ho Yang at One FC 10, and couldn’t be happier.

“It’s nice to get a win, especially after two losses over such a long period of time,” said Fodor. “It’s great to get over that, get a victory and I’m feeling pretty good.”

Even with the win, Fodor admits, in the pursuit of victory he might not have performed as well as he could have.

“I really wish I could have finished the guy, but he was really tough,” said Fodor. “I really needed a win, so there were opportunities where I could have taken a risk, but I didn’t go for it because I couldn’t stand a third loss in a row.

“I was never in a dangerous position. I dominated in my mind and didn’t give him any opportunities to do much to me. I just didn’t take a lot of risks, that’s for sure.”

Having not won a bout since defeating Justin Wilcox in December of 2011, Fodor told MMAWeekly.com that going through such a rough patch is more than enough motivation to keep on the winning track.

“It was a horrible time,” he said. “I was still under contract to Strikeforce and they were going under, so there was a year period where there were fights and then there weren’t fights, so being stuck with two losses and not have an opportunity to get back with a win really sucked.

“That (Pat) Healy loss was really devastating because I thought I could win that fight and had to live with it for a long time. I got the UFC bout (against Sam Stout), but had a real rough decision and then got cut from the UFC, which was also devastating, so it was just a really rough time.”

Now that he’s back on track with a new promotion in One FC, Fodor is eager to keep things going and close out the year in a winning streak.

“I know there’s a possibility to fight again because they’re going to have a couple more cards before the end of the year, so I’d really like to get on one of those,” he said. “My right hand is a little messed up right now, so I need to give it a couple weeks to heal, but after that, I’d love to fight in November or December.”
