Donald Cerrone Willing to Fight at 155 or 170, Unhappy with Pay

Donald Cerrone Willing to Fight at 155 or 170, Unhappy with Pay

Lightweight contender Donald “Cowoby” Cerrone made his welterweight debut in February and has put together back-to-back Donald Cowboy Cerrone UFC 182_1623wins in the 170-pound weight class. He submitted Alex Oliveira at UFC Fight Night 83 and finished Patrick Cote with Strikes on Saturday.

Cerrone is willing to bounce back and forth between the two divisions. Which ever weight class offers him the quickest opportunity to get back in there and compete is the one he’ll fight in.

“I like 155. I like 170. Either way. Whatever the fastest trip to the next fight is, so if it’s 155 or 170, that’s the route I’m going,” he said during the UFC Fight Night 89 post-fight press conference. “Either way.”

Cerrone’s TKO win over Cote earned him a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus, but “Cowboy” isn’t happy with his current salary.

“According to my pay, I don’t mean sh*t to the UFC. We’ll see. I’m going to talk to Dana [White] after this and figure that out,” he said when asked about free agency.
