Don’t Worry Everyone, Ronda Rousey is Still the EA UFC 2 Cover Athlete

Don’t Worry Everyone, Ronda Rousey is Still the EA UFC 2 Cover Athlete

RONDA ROUSEY EA COVER

Damn you, EA curse.

It all started with Madden. Then it transformed into this gruesome monster that seemed latch itself onto any athlete who graced the cover of an EA Sports game, causing season ending injuries and now horrible/memorable unforeseen knockouts.

Ronda Rousey is the latest EA cover athlete to give gamers a reason to believe in the curse when she lost to Holly Holm with a foot-to-the-grill-jitsu technique. This happened just 24 hours after Ronda was named the cover athlete for the upcoming EA UFC 2 game.

So did EA Sports go into panic mode and search for a replacement of the cover fighter who just got knocked out? Nope.

Instead of acting like a UFC matchmaker scrambling to find a quick-fix main event after another doper gets busted for PEDs, EA Sports is sticking with their guns and keeping Ronda of the cover. Good on you, video game company.

ESPN.com spoke with a rep at EA who confirmed Ronda’s place on the video game’s casing will be untouched, and they will move forward as planned with her and a yet-to-be named fighter *cough Conor McGregor cough* on the cover.

From the worldwide mothership, otherwise known as ESPN:

EA Sports spokesman Brad Hilderbrand confirmed Monday that Rousey will still grace the cover along with a male fighter who has yet to be announced.

The game drops next spring, and we hope to get our hands on it to run a battery of tests and see how long it can last in a microwave provide a wholesome review.

For now, here’s the former queen of bantamweights talking about her video game addictions. To the footage!
