UFC fighter Chael Sonnen received his U.S. District Court sentencing on Friday, stemming from a guilty plea to a charge of one count of federal money laundering. Sonnen admitted to a financial transaction designed to hide or disguise the ownership and control of proceeds of wire fraud.

Upon his guilty plea in January, The Oregonian’s web site said that the government recommended Sonnen be sentenced to two years of probation, and that he would agree to give up his Realtor’s license and pay a $10,000 fine.

That is the sentence that Sonnen received on Friday, according to the United States Attorney’s Office in Oregon.

There had been several rumors recently that Sonnen would likely coach opposite Michael Bisping on the next season of “The Ultimate Fighter.” UFC president Dana White recently cast doubt upon those rumors, however, suggesting, as he has numerous times since the charges were leveled, that Sonnen has to get things straightened out in his personal life before they start talking about bringing him back to fight or participate in TUF 14.
