Cain Velasquez UFC 155 backstage passUFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez will put his title on the line against Fabricio Werdum on Nov. 15 in Mexico City in the main event of UFC 180. UFC president Dana White made the announcement on Tuesday during a press conference in the Mexican capital.

Velasquez (13-1) defended his title for the second time at UFC 166 on Oct. 19, 2013, but has been sidelined while recovering from shoulder surgery.

Werdum (18-5, 1 NC) has put together a four-fight winning streak since returning to the UFC in February 2012, solidifying his position as the No. 1 heavyweight contender.

Prior to their UFC 180 title fight, Velasquez and Werdum will coach the inaugural season of The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America, which company officials also announced on Tuesday.

TUF Latin America includes numerous nations, including Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay or Venezuela.

The show features featherweights and bantamweights, and begins shooting on May 12. It will debut the week of Aug. 18 on Televisa in Mexico and will be available on other television networks throughout Latin America.
