Cage Warriors 75 gets first bouts for first event since 2014

The lineup is taking shape for Cage Warriors’ first event since November 2014.

This past year, Cage Warriors CEO Graham Boylan announced he’d taken over ownership of the U.K.-based promotion, and earlier this year, he said the organization’s usually-busy fight schedule would return in 2016.

The first show, Cage Warriors 75, takes place April 15 at Camden Centre in London. Broadcast and streaming plans aren’t set.

While a headliner hasn’t been announced, officials today unveiled the first few matchups for the card.

In feather action, 21-year-old submission specialist Paddy Pimblett (9-1), who’s riding a five-fight winning streak (with four stoppages), returns to Cage Warriors for a bout with fellow Englishman Ashleigh Grimshaw (16-9), a 34-year-old vet who was riding a six-fight winning streak before a recent loss to Kamil Lebkowski.

In light-heavyweight action, undefeated Darren Stewart (5-0), a two-year pro who reps The MMA Clinic, takes on James Hurrell (7-4), who fights for the first time since a win over Carl Winslow at Cage Warriors 74 in November 2014, which moved him to 3-1 over his past four fights.

Other new bouts include women’s bantamweights Anna Elmose (3-0) vs. Stephanie Page (2-1), lightweights Alfie Davis (4-1) vs. Terry Doyle (3-1), and featherweights Oliver Battell (0-1) vs. Rob Scott (0-0).

The latest Cage Warriors 75 card now includes:

• James Hurrell vs. Darren Stewart
• Anna Elmose vs. Stephanie Page
• Alfie Davis vs. Terry Doyle
• Oliver Battell vs. Rob Scott
