Sherdog.com confirmed the news with a source close to the fighter following an initial report from TopMMANews.com. Taleb will not compete in the Season 6 tournament, according to Sherdog’s source. Rather, the Tristar representative will make his promotional debut at a to-be-named Canadian event in April.
The reigning Ring of Combat welterweight champion, Taleb rides a five-fight winning streak heading into his Bellator debut. The once-beaten Montreal resident captured the ROC belt in his most recent outing, stopping UFC veteran Pete Sell on Nov. 18.
The lone loss of Taleb’s career came in his second career bout, as he was knocked out by Guillaume DeLorenzi in 2008. Since that defeat, the welterweight has rattled off five consecutive wins, finishing four of his conquered foes by knockout.
