All World Series of Fighting 3 Athletes Drug Tested; All Return Clean Results

Josh Burkman and Jon FitchEvery fighter at the recent World Series of Fighting 3 event was drug tested and every fighter returned negative results.

Nevada State Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer informed MMAWeekly.com of the WSOF 3 drug test results on Monday.

World Series of Fighting 3: Fitch vs. Burkman took place on June 14 at The Joint at The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

Josh Burkman pulled off what most considered a stunning upset by submitting Jon Fitch 41 seconds into the opening round of their main event bout. The victory propelled Burkman into the promotion’s first welterweight title fight, though he is now waiting for WSOF officials to flesh out who his opponent will be.

Steve Carl also made quick work of Tyson Steele in the night’s co-main event, submitting him in the first round. The victory puts Carl in the mix to become Burkman’s opponent.

WSOF 3 drew an audience of 2,501 spectators, which accounted for gate receipts totaling $106,573.
