The UFC’s traditional pre-event show returns Wednesday, Sept. 18, with the debut of “Countdown to UFC 165: Jones vs. Gustafsson” on FOX Sports 1.
The one-hour special previews the card’s headlining lightweight heavyweight title fight between champion Jon Jones (18-1 MMA, 12-1 UFC) and challenger Alexander Gustafsson (14-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC).
“Countdown” airs at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT), and replays airs throughout the week.
UFC 165 takes place Sept. 21 at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and Facebook. An extended video preview of the event can be found above.
“Countdown” will focus on the headliner, in which Jones looks for a record sixth consecutive UFC light-heavyweight title defense, as well as the night’s other title fight: interim bantamweight champ Renan Barao (30-1 MMA, 5-0 UFC) vs. Eddie Wineland (20-8-1 MMA, 2-2 UFC).
